Professor Nicole Grobert is appointed to European Commission’s Group of Chief Scientific Advisors

Professor Nicole Grobert, former Young Academy of Europe (YAE) Chair, has been appointed to the European Commission’s Group of Chief Scientific Advisors (GCSA).  Nicole is a Royal Society Industry Fellow, Professor of Nanomaterials at the Department of Materials in the University of Oxford and a visiting Professor at the Bio-Nano Electronics Research Centre at Toyo University, Japan.

As part of our role in the Science Advice for Policy by European Academies (SAPEA) project, Academia Europaea and the Cardiff Hub work closely with the GCSA within the European Commission’s Scientific Advice Mechanism (SAM).

Nicole was one of our speakers at the 28th Academia Europaea Annual Conference, hosted by the Cardiff Hub in June 2016. We also worked with her in the organisation of the symposium Crossing boundaries: new approaches to science for policy in Europe, hosted by the Estonian Academy of Sciences in Tallinn on Friday 13 October 2017.
