AE Cardiff Knowledge Hub is pleased to welcome a new member to our team, Claire Hobbs.
Claire has recently returned to the UK after working overseas as the Grants Manager at the Charles Darwin Foundation in the Galapagos Islands. She has extensive experience working in the UK Higher Education sector having worked in research project management, programme management and international marketing. She has particular expertise in managing large-scale European projects, research grant funding, income generation and international collaboration.
She has travelled extensively throughout her career, promoting Higher Education to students in China, India, Bangladesh, Hong Kong, Brunei and Sri Lanka and more recently to develop partnerships with individual and institutional donors in the USA, Ecuador, Costa Rica and across Europe. Claire has a Masters degree in Applied Languages and Business with a first degree in European Union Studies with French and Italian and is a PRINCE2 practitioner.
Claire’s initial task within the team will be to coordinate the production of an evidence review report on the biodegradability of plastics, organise and manage meetings of the working group in Europe and collate drafts of the evidence review report. She will also work with the rest of the Hub team on marketing and communications activities.
