The AE Cardiff Hub has an exciting position available for a Science for Policy Officer to play a key role in the effective delivery of AE Cardiff’s responsibilities in the Horizon 2020-funded SAPEA project, which undertakes evidence reviews to inform European policymaking.
The appointed candidate will help the AE Cardiff Hub co-ordinate international expert panels and organise public events with third party organisations which can ultimately influence the development of European policy.
What is SAPEA?
The role of a Science for Policy Officer is to undertake a range of responsibilities, as listed in the job description, which are specifically assigned to the AE Cardiff Hub within the Science Advice for Policy by European Academies (SAPEA) project. Academia Europaea (AE) is a member of the SAPEA consortium, which undertakes independent, interdisciplinary evidence reviews that inform policymaking by the European Commission. Who are we looking for?
The successful candidate will be an excellent team player. They will be expected to have experience of working within externally-funded projects and be comfortable planning and setting priorities, given the tight deadlines that are part of the policymaking cycle. They will also have experience in outreach activities, such as marketing and events, as they will be taking the lead on developing and executing these activities as part of the Hub’s work in SAPEA.
