Dr Mildred Foster has joined as Science for Policy Officer
Mildred obtained a PhD in Immunology from the Institute for Animal Health Pirbright Laboratory. Her research contributed to the development of a DNA vaccine against Foot-and-Mouth Disease virus.
Mildred gained extensive experience in biomedical and clinical research at Oxford University. She worked as postdoctoral research fellow at the Sir William Dunn School of Pathology and as Clinical Programme Manager at the Nuffield Department of Primary Care Health Sciences. She also has experience in science funding from her work at Wellcome Trust and patient and public involvement at the Oxford Academic Health Science Network. In that role she was responsible for building and supporting a network of professionals, patients, carers and members of the public working together to develop the delivery of person-centred care, research and innovation.
Mildred’s role within the hub team will be to support the SAPEA project in the delivery of independent, interdisciplinary evidence reviews to inform policymaking by the European Commission.
