AE Cardiff welcomes new Research Officer


We are pleased to welcome our new Research Officer, Cecilia Paulsson, to the team.


Experience

Cecilia has worked in the Higher Education sector for eight years, with a focus on academic and research support, communications, and events management.

She has worked as a Research Assistant since 2021, and she has provided support on multiple research projects across Europe and North America. She has been part of the Climate Finance research group at the University of Warwick since 2022, and she investigated the implementation of AI in oncology and ophthalmology at UCL/Università Bocconi from 2021-2023. Between 2016 and 2021 she co-ran the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses UK programme at the University of Oxford.

Cecilia is a trained journalist. Before moving into higher education, her background was predominantly in the media and broadcast television industry.

She holds a BA in journalism and print media from the University of East London, and later studied physics and mathematics at the Open University.

Responsibilities

Cecilia will play a key role in ensuring the effective delivery of the Academia Europaea Cardiff’s responsibilities in the SAPEA (Science Advice for Policy by European Academies) project. Within the Hub team she’ll be supporting events and contributing to communications activities.
