Cardiff Hub promotes links between the UK and Latin America at Cambridge summit
The Cardiff Hub is pleased to have been a partner at the Shaping Horizons summit and action programme, which brings 150 young leaders from across Latin America and the UK to engage with senior world leaders and ignite change. The summit is taking place between 9th and 13th September at the University of Cambridge.
The Hub, acting on behalf of SAPEA, co-designed and moderated the session on evidence-based policy. Each delegate received the executive summary of SAPEA’s latest report, Making sense of science for policy under conditions of complexity and uncertainty.
Following talks by leading experts, delegates discussed key themes around the quality of evidence-based policy processes, stakeholder relationships, public engagement and international cooperation. The report of the session will be co-written with the Shaping Horizons organising committee.
The Shaping Horizons summit featured a number of distinguished speakers, including Sir Mark Walport, Professor Sir David King, Baroness Brown of Cambridge and Dame Mary Archer.
The Amazon is burning. The Arctic is melting. Many social inequalities are growing. How is our data being used? In exactly 3 days, some of the brightest minds in Latin America & UK will gather to brainstorm solutions to these and other #GlobalChallenges at #ShapingHorizons. 1/2 pic.twitter.com/HXZJPVNktl
