Professor Graham Hutchings MAE wins Michel Boudart Award in Fundamental Catalysis



It has been announced that Cardiff University’s Professor Graham Hutchings is the winner of the 2021 Michel Boudart Award in Fundamental Catalysis for his groundbreaking work on gold and selective oxidation catalysis.



The exciting news was shared on 14th March by EFCATS (European Federation of Catalysis Societies) President, Professor Bert Weckhuysen. His tweet stated:

The Michel Boudart Award for the Advancement of Catalysis “recognizes and encourages individual contributions to the elucidation of the mechanism and active sites involved in catalytic phenomena and to the development of new methods or concepts that advance the understanding and/or practice of heterogeneous catalysis.” (EFCATS website)

About Graham Hutchings MAE

Professor Graham Hutchings MAE is a Distinguished Professor of Physical Chemistry at Cardiff University, AE’s Cardiff host institution. Professor Hutchings has received numerous awards. In more recent years, he has been awarded the Royal Society’s Davy Medal (2013), Thompson Reuters’ Most Cited Scientist Award (2014) and the Royal Society of Chemistry’s Faraday Lectureship Prize (2018). He was elected to the Academia Europaea in 2010.
