AE Cardiff Hub hosts CALIPER consortium meeting

AE Cardiff was delighted to host CALIPER’s 6th Project Management Team meeting on 22nd and 23rd June, at Woburn House in London.

33 consortium partners, from across Europe, were in attendance, either in person or online. Over the course of the two-day meeting, project partners had the opportunity to update colleagues on their progress within the CALIPER project and to share ideas and discuss challenges.

The Horizon 2020-funded CALIPER project aims to address gender equality within research and innovation in Europe. AE Cardiff’s role within the project is to lead external dissemination of the project, in close cooperation with the Young Academy of Europe (YAE). A core task is to produce role model videos, which raise awareness and generate debate about gender inequality issues in STEM fields.

Professor Ole Petersen, as Director of AE Cardiff, opened the meeting and later hosted a dinner for the participants. Alice Sadler, AE Cardiff Hub Communications Officer and Louise Edwards, AE Cardiff Hub Manager, updated project partners on the Hub’s progress.

Attendees also had the opportunity to experience the rich cultural heritage of London. Following the meeting, the group enjoyed a visit to the British Museum, where they visited the exhibition “Feminine power: the divine to the demonic.”
