SAPEA publishes new Strategic Plan

SAPEA publishes new Strategic Plan

The creation of the Plan has been overseen by AE, with AE Cardiff as coordinator and editor.

The SAPEA Consortium has published a new Strategic Development Plan. Academia Europaea has overseen the production of the Plan, with AE President, Marja Makarow, as Chair of the Working Group.

To inform the Plan, SAPEA undertook a comprehensive review of existing strategy and operations. Input to this came from an internal review, and a consultation with a wide range of external stakeholders. SAPEA also solicited the views of international experts on trends in science advice. The work was led by Louise Edwards, AE Cardiff Hub Manager.

The Plan establishes four new strategic priorities – on Service Innovation and Impact; Widening Excellence and Participation; Communication for Impact; and Knowledge Sharing and Best Practice.

The new Plan will bridge from the current SAPEA project, due to run to mid-2025, into the next SAPEA project, which is anticipated to last up to 5 years.
