Celebrating five years of the Academia Europaea in Cardiff
We are delighted to be marking our 5th anniversary and this week we are celebrating this important milestone.
It has been 5 years since the AE Cardiff Hub was officially launched at the Academia Europaea Annual Meeting in 2016. In celebration of our 5th anniversary, we are pleased to share with you a special brochure which provides an overview of our achievements and activities over the last 5 years – the projects we’ve led, international events that we’ve organised, and key partners we’ve worked with.

Some of those who have supported the work of the AE Cardiff Hub have kindly sent us video messages of congratulations.

An interview with Professor Sierd Cloetingh
Continuing our celebrations through the week, we are releasing an interview with Professor Sierd Cloetingh, who shares highlights from his role as President of Academia Europaea and reflects on the impact of the Academy’s work.
About the AE Cardiff Hub
The Cardiff Hub was officially launched at the 2016 Academia Europaea Annual Meeting, following a collaboration agreement between Academia Europaea and Cardiff University.
Since then, we have played a key role in the European Scientific Advice Mechanism. Academia Europaea is a member of the SAPEA (Science for Policy by European Academies) consortium with the Cardiff Hub responsible for delivering work on behalf of the Academy. This includes coordinating evidence reviews that inform policymaking by the European Commission.
Over the past five years, the Hub has held over 30 events including international conferences, workshops and webinars attracting audiences of up to 300 from almost 40 countries around the world.
