Cardiff Hub joins European project to improve gender equality in research
The AE Cardiff Hub has joined the Horizon 2020-funded CALIPER project, as part of a consortium of organisations that aim to address gender equality within research and innovation in Europe.
The CALIPER project’s goal is to make research organisations more gender equal by increasing the number of female researchers in STEM, improving their careers prospects and integrating a gender dimension in research.
The project supports nine research organisations, predominantly in Southern and Eastern Europe, to establish Gender Equality Plans.
The Cardiff Hub, working with the grant beneficiary the Young Academy of Europe (YAE), will lead on communications across Europe and encouraging wider engagement with the project, producing digital content and organising events.
Dr Gemma Modinos, Chair of the YAE, said,
“We are delighted to count on the Cardiff Hub’s wealth of expertise and work for the delivery of this important project. Tackling gender inequalities in research and academia is a core mission of the YAE and the Cardiff Hub team is an ideal partner to jointly achieve the project’s goals.”
